Type of Dish: Vegetarian (can add meat)

Origin:

This recipe is what happens when your inner child and your grown-up cravings collaborate. It’s gooey grilled cheese meets saucy pizza night. Inspired by after-school snacks and midnight cravings, this sandwich uses Sauce Pantry’s Pizzafy Sauce for that rich tomato-garlic flavor—without needing to preheat the oven.

Pro Tips:

  • Mozzarella melts beautifully, but add a sprinkle of parmesan for extra flavor.

  • Toast low and slow for a crispy crust and a gooey middle.

Things to Watch Out For:

  • Avoid over-saucing—just enough to flavor, too much can make it soggy.

  • Use thick-cut bread like sourdough to hold everything together.

Process:

  1. Build the Sandwich:

    • Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side, spread a spoonful of Pizzafy Sauce, layer mozzarella (and optional pepperoni or veggies), and sandwich it shut.

  2. Grill:

    • In a skillet over medium-low heat, grill until golden and crispy on both sides and cheese is melted through (about 3–4 mins per side).

  3. Slice & Serve:

    • Let rest for 1 minute, then slice in half and serve with extra warm Pizzafy Sauce for dipping.
